The 55th Nashville Film Festival has added new films to the lineup, with “Saturday Night,” directed by Jason Reitman as the 2024 Centerpiece Presentation.

The other new special presentations are My Old Ass directed by Megan Park; Superboys of Malegaon directed by Reema Kagti; Unstoppable directed by William Goldenberg; and Amber Alert directed by Kerry Bellessa.

“We are excited to cap off our programming additions with these incredible films, including our 2024 Centerpiece Presentation,” said Lauren Thelen, Programming Director of NashFilm. “The diversity in this year’s lineup, from comedy to drama to suspense, ensures the 55th festival has something for every film aficionado, and we are immensely proud of the selection we are able to bring to Nashville audiences this year.”

Alongside the lineup of over 150 titles, NashFilm will screen the “Best of the Fest,” with winning films from each category selected by the esteemed juries and the audience awards voted on by NashFilm attendees based on the films they enjoyed most, including: New Directors Feature, Documentary Feature, Music Documentary Feature, Narrative Feature, Spotlight Feature, Tennessee Feature, Music Video, Episodic and Short Film winners.

A film from Amazon MGM Studios, “SUPERBOYS OF MALEGAON” follows the journey of aspiring filmmaker Nashir Shaikh as he bands together his group of friends to make a film for his small town of Malegaon. This Hindi-language film is a heartwarming tale that beautifully captures the essence of friendship and the transformative power of filmmaking based on Shaikh’s real-life interest in filmmaking and the 2008 documentary SUPERMEN OF MALEGAON.

Produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, “UNSTOPPABLE” is a biographical sports drama from Amazon MGM Studios that centers around the life of wrestler Anthony Robles. Despite being born without a right leg, Robles overcame major obstacles, both at home and on the mat, to become an NCAA Division 1 champion wrestler at Arizona State University. “UNSTOPPABLE” is adapted from Robles’ memoir, Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion.

AMBER ALERT | Directed by Kerry Bellessa | Starring Hayden Panettiere, Tyler James Williams, Kevin Dunn and more
From Lionsgate Films, an ordinary rideshare becomes a high-stakes game of cat and mouse when Jaq and Shane receive an alert of a child abduction on their phones. Quickly realizing they are behind a car that matches the description of the kidnapper’s, Jaq (played by Hayden Panettiere) and Shane (played by Emmy winner Tyler James Williams) desperately race against time to save the child’s life.
Director, Kerry Ballessa will be in attendance for a Q&A post screening.
