Adam’s Apples – In a jarringly wicked, funny, and politically-incorrrect religious fable, Ivan, an insanely-optimistic preacher who takes in ex-cons to help around his remote Danish rural church, puts Adam, a vicious neo-Nazi, in charge of the only apple tree in the vicinity. Adam, grasping the extent of Ivan’s crazed determination to look on the bright side of everything, decides to shake him out of his rose-colored world. The Grocer’s Son – Antoine is forced to leave Paris and return to Provence to help his family during his father’s illness. A blend of fantasy and harsh realism based on a true story. Directed by Nic Balthzar. Flemish with English subtitles. 2007.

Viva Cuba – In a tale akin to Romeo and Juliet, the friendship to two children is threatened by their parents’ differences. Colorful drama / comedy directed by Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti. Winner – Cannes Film Festival. Spanish with English subtitles. 2005.

Noise – Two heinous crimes have left an Australian surburban town reeling.
