51st Thessaloniki International Film Festival Awards

Periferic (Outbound) by Bogdan George Apetri

Periferic (Outbound) by Bogdan George Apetri took the Best Feature Film Award – Golden Alexander at the 51st Thessaloniki Film Festival which ran December 3-12, 2010.  The Greek Film Critics Association (PEKK) Award was also given to Periferic (Outbound).

The synopsis for Periferic (Outbound): “Matilda has one day at her disposal. Twenty-four hours in which, after going to her mother’s funeral on special leave, she must return back to the prison where she is serving her sentence. The tough, determined Matilda meets her brother and her reluctant sister-in-law and asks them for a favor, but when they turn her down, she resorts to her ex-boyfriend and pimp for help. Matilda’s goals are never clear, but her actions are definite (as is the confident acting of Ana Ularu in the main role), in this story about the quest for a new life, which is defined by quick and non-refundable decisions.”
