The inspirational, star-studded drama We Are Boats follows a young woman, Francesca (beautifully portrayed by “Westworld” alum Angela Sarafyan) as she navigates through the living world, encountering strangers at the exact moment she needs to, sending their lives on either a better course towards happiness or setting the wheels in motion towards a tragic end.
Alongside Sarafyan, We Are Boats directed by James Bird, features an all-star cast, including Luke Hemsworth (“Westworld”), Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction), Adriana Mather (Honeyglue), Justin Corwell (“Training Day”), Jack Falahee (“How to Get Away with Murder”), Gaia Weiss (The Legend of Hercules), Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga), Graham Greene (The Green Mile), and Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”). The film boast a 50% female and 41% people of color cast, with 45% women crew, and representing the first completely vegan set.

Director James Bird is a Native American filmmaker from California. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue his dream he quickly became an award-winning writer/director in Hollywood. His films highly promote diversity, equality, and compassion. His latest film, We Are Boats, is the first 100% Vegan film ever made, which started a high-profile trend in the industry, being followed by big Hollywood movies like the Avatar sequels which will now be all vegan sets as well. James Bird is also a published author, with his debut novel The Flutterby Girl being published by MacMillan books in the spring of 2020. He enjoys rescuing animals and being a character, basically being something never had while growing up… a father. His son, Wolf, was welcomed into the world by James and his wife, fellow We Are Boats actor Adriana Mather.
