Magnolia Pictures released a new trailer for the documentary Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band, directed by Daniel Roher (Ghosts of Our Forest) that World Premiered as the opening night film of the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by Martin Scorsese, Brian Grazer, and Ron Howard, the feature documentary follows Robertson from his early life in Toronto and on the Six Nations of the Grand River reserve, in Southern Ontario, to the creation of legendary roots-rock group The Band. Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band will open in theaters on February 21, 2020.

Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band is is described as a confessional, cautionary, and occasionally humorous tale of Robertson’s young life and the creation of one of the most enduring groups in the history of popular music, The Band. The film is a moving story of Robertson’s personal journey, overcoming adversity and finding camaraderie alongside the four other men who would become his brothers in music, together making their mark on music history. Once Were Brothersblends rare archival footage, photography, iconic songs and interviews with Robertson’s friends and collaborators includ­ing Martin Scorsese, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and more.
