Cleveland International Film Festival returns for CIFF46, which will take place March 30 – April 10, 2022. CIFF46 will take place in person at the Festival’s new and permanent home in Playhouse Square — the largest performing arts center outside of New York City. There will also be an online component of CIFF46, with information to be shared at a later date.

CIFF46 will consist of hundreds of films, post-film conversations and Q&As with filmmakers, balloting, and awards with cash prizes for feature and short films. CIFF is one of the few festivals in the world that is Academy Award® qualifying for all three categories of short films—live action, animated, and documentary. CIFF Speaks (the Festival’s official podcast) will be celebrating filmmakers and their art with episodes surrounding and during CIFF46.

As noted by Marcie Goodman, CIFF Executive Director, “The Cleveland International Film Festival is excited to reinvent itself once again as we plan our first hybrid Festival – in person and online. CIFF continues to evolve because of the hearts and hands of our community, which unflinchingly hold us up.”

The Festival is now accepting submissions for CIFF46, films of any runtime, of any genre, and from any country — with a completed production date after June 1, 2020 — are eligible for consideration.

CIFF45 Streams, which took place April 7 – 20, 2021, presented 117 feature films and 182 short films from 63 countries to a national online audience of 102,432 viewers. Filmmaker cash prizes for the Festival’s esteemed 34 competitions and other awards totaled $114,500.
