63rd Lübeck Nordic Film Days Announces Award Winners, ‘The Gravedigger’s Wife’ Wins NDR Film Prize

“The Gravedigger’s Wife” directed by Khadar Ayderus Ahmed won two major awards – the NDR narrative Film Prize award and the Interfilm Church Prize at the 63rd Lübeck Nordic Film Days (Nordische Filmtage).

“The Blind Man Who Did Not Want to See Titanic” by Teemu Nikki was also recognized by two different juries. Producer Jani Pösö accepted the Baltic Film prize worth 5,000 euro and it received an Honorable Mention from the Interfilm Church jury.

The DGB North District trade union Documentary Prize went to “Arica” by William Johansson Kalén und Lars Edman.

The Friends of the NFL prize for best first film went to the Icelandic film that opened the festival, “Cop Secret”, with director Hannes Þór Halldórsson on hand to accept in person. Moviegoers awarded their Audience prize to “Margrete – Queen of the North” by Charlotte Sieling.
