Netflix released the official teaser trailer for White Noise, Noah Baumbach’s follow-up to Marriage Story, and set to world premiere as the opening film of the 79th Venice International Film Festival, and make its North American premiere as the Opening Night film of the 60th New York Film Festival. The film stars Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Raffey Cassidy, André Benjamin, Alessandro Nivola, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Don Cheadle.
The film is based on the book by Don DeLillo, and stars Adam Driver as a professor of Hitler studies, torn asunder by “the Airborne Toxic Event”, a cataclysmic train accident that casts chemical waste over his town.
White Noise is expected to have a limited release in theaters and debut on Netflix in 2022.
At once hilarious and horrifying, lyrical and absurd, ordinary and apocalyptic, White Noise dramatizes a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world.
