IFC Films debuted the official trailer for Corsage, the period drama starring Vicky Krieps, Florian Teichtmeister, Jeanne Werner, Alma Hasan, Finnegan, Colin Morgan. The film has been selected to represent Austria at the 2023 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category.
In the historical drama, Vicky Krieps stars as Empress Elisabeth of Austria, one of the most magnetic royals of the 19th century, who was idolized for her beauty and renowned for inspiring fashion trends.
Directed by Marie Kreutzer, Corsage had its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival where Vicky Krieps won Best Performance Prize; and will open in theaters on December 23, 2022.
Empress Elisabeth of Austria is known for her beauty and fashion trends. But in 1877, she celebrates her 40th birthday and must fight to maintain her public image. With a future of only ceremonial duties in front of her, she rebels against her public image and comes up with a plan to protect her legacy.
