Triangle of Sadness dominated the 35th European Film Awards, winning Best European Film, along with Best European Director plus Screenwriter for Ruben Östlund and Best European Actor for Zlatko Buric. In the Palme d’Or winner, social hierarchy is turned upside down when two models and a cleaning lady become stranded on a desert island with a group of billionaires. The film stars Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, Zlatko Burić, Henrik Dorsin, Vicki Berlin, and Woody Harrelson.
Other top awards including Best European Actress went to Best Vicky Krieps for Corsage, Best European Documentary went to Mariupolis 2, and Best European Comedy went to The Good Boss (El Buen Patrón).
German director Margarethe von Trotta received the European Lifetime Achievement award; Palestinian filmmaker Elia Suleiman received the European Achievement in World Cinema award; and Darya Bassel, Aleksandra Kostina, Egor Olesov and Julia Sinkevych accepted the Eurimages Co-Production Award 2022 on behalf of all Ukranian producers.
