Janus Films revealed the official trailer for The Eight Mountains (Le otto montagne), the Italian drama adapted from the novel of the same name, about a friendship between two men who spend their childhood together in the Italian Alps and reconnect later as adults. Starring in the film are Luca Marinelli, Alessandro Borghi, Lupo Barbiero, Cristiano Sassella, and Elisabetta Mazzullo.

Directed by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, The Eight Mountains premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prix Jury prize, and opens in theaters in New York on April 28 and in Los Angeles on May 5, with additional cities to follow.

After meeting as children over a series of summers in the Italian Alps, Pietro (Luca Marinelli) and Bruno (Alessandro Borghi) reunite as adults to build a mountainside cottage which becomes a site of both reflection and reconciliation. In The Eight Mountains, winner of the Jury Prize at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch (the filmmakers behind the Academy Award®-nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown) trace with exquisite beauty and grace the life trajectories of two men whose peak moments and low ebbs become one with the landscape that has shaped them.
