Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret Wins Best Picture at 2023 San Diego Film Critics Society Awards

The San Diego Film Critics Society picked the coming-of-age film Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret directed by Kelly Fremon Craig as the Best Picture of 2023. The film also won Best Supporting Actress for Rachel McAdams, Best Youth Performance (For a performer under the age of 18) for Abby Ryder Fortson, Best Adapted Screenplay for Kelly Fremon Craig and Breakthrough Actor for Abby Ryder Fortson.

Other honors went to American Fiction for Best Actor for Jeffrey Wright along with Best First Feature (Director) for Cord Jefferson; Best Documentary for Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie; Best Animated Film for The Boy and the Heron; and Best Foreign Language Film for Anatomy of a Fall.
