Conclave, Magpie, Blitz, A Real Pain, Nickel Boys Among 15th Twin Cities Film Festival Award Finalists

The Edward Berger drama Conclave alongside other acclaimed titles Sam Yates’ feature debut, Magpie, Steve McQueens’ WWII drama Blitz, A Real Pain directed by Jesse Eisenberg, Ash Avildsen directed Queen of the Ring, and Nickel Boys directed by RaMell Ross, are the finalists for the Best Feature Film Award at the 15th Twin Cities Film Festival (TCFF).

Over 20 films are in contention for top honors, with many still available for streaming during the festivals final weekend.

At the festival, actress Daisy Ridley and writer Tom Bateman received TCFF’S Indie Vision Awards in Acting and Screenwriting; and actor Josh Duhamel was honored with the the 2024 Twin Cities Film Fest NorthStar Award;

Actor Bill Murray is serving as a special guest judge for this year’s Comedy Shorts Award, choosing his favorite comedic short from the three finalists listed below.

The Robert Byrd Best Documentary Film Award

For The Living directed by Marc Bennett and Tim Roper; and

The Bill Cooper Best Minnesota Feature Award

Fishing Hat Bandit directed by Mark R Brown;
Antarctic Voyage directed by Kevin Schreck; and
Boundary Water, directed by Tessa Blake.

Best Short Film Award

Ante Mortem, directed by Jordan Lynn;
The Bend directed by Sarah McCarron;
Bolour, directed by Helia Behrooz;
Mermaid, Bitch, directed by Victoria Negri; and
Tiny Horse directed by Will Amato and George N Koulouris.

Fun Is Good Bill Murray Comedy Shorts Award

Room Tone directed by Michael Gabriele;
Physical Therapy directed by Cristi Rumpza; and
Mermaid, Bitch directed by Victoria Negri.
