Roadside Attractions debuted the first look teaser trailer for Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, the drama film starring former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson as a seasoned Las Vegas showgirl who has to plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.
The Last Showgirl had its world premiere at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival. The film was also selected to screen at the 20th Zurich Film Festival where Anderson was honored with the Golden Eye Award, the 11th Miami Film Festival GEMS, and the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize.
In addition to Anderson, the film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka, and Brenda Song.
Release Date
Directed by Gia Coppola, The Last Showgirl opens in Los Angeles’ AMC Century City for one week only on December 13, 2024, before expanding nationwide on January 10, 2025.
Synopsis
The Last Showgirl, a poignant film of resilience, rhinestones and feathers, stars Pamela Anderson as Shelly, a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run. Written by Kate Gersten, the film is produced by Robert Schwartzman, Natalie Farrey and Gia Coppola and features a new original song “Beautiful That Way,” sung by pop superstar Miley Cyrus, produced by Academy Award nominee Andrew Wyatt and written by Wyatt, Cyrus and Lykke Li.
