Coming off from the critical and commercial success of Longlegs, director Osgood Perkins returns with his second collaboration with NEON in The Monkey. Produced by James Wan and adapted from a 1998 Stephen King short story, the film follows a pair of twin brothers, both played by Theo James, haunted by a string of deaths around them.

In addition to James, The Monkey stars Tatiana Maslany, Elijah Wood, Christian Convery, Colin O’Brien, Rohan Campbell, and Sarah Levy.

Release Date

Directed by Osgood Perkins, The Monkey opens in theaters on February 21, 2025.

Synopsis

After stumbling upon their father’s vintage toy monkey in the attic, twin brothers Hal and Bill witness a string of horrifying deaths unfolding around them. In an attempt to leave the haunting behind, the brothers opt to discard the monkey and pursue separate paths over time. However, when the inexplicable deaths resurface, the brothers are compelled to reconcile and embark on a mission to permanently eliminate the cursed toy.
