Lionsgate dropped the new official trailer for the dark psychological thriller Siberia directed by Abel Ferrara (Bad Lieutenant) and starring Willem Defoe in his sixth collaboration with Ferrara. The film also stars Ferrara’s wife – Cristina Chiriac and Ferrara’s daughter – Anna Chiria, along with Dounia Sichov and Simon McBurney.
Siberia which originally had its world premiere at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival, opens in select theaters and VOD on June 18.
In Siberia, Clint (Defoe) tends bar at a snowbound roadhouse whose patrons speak a language he doesn’t understand, and things may not be what they seem. Desperate for answers, he drives a sled team to a nearby cave, but finds no peace. Are the spirits that confront him mere figments of his imagination — or will they slowly tear his body and soul to pieces?
