1091 Pictures will release the thriller film RUNT that tells the story of a group of neglected and misguided high-school seniors who are pulled into a downward cycle of violence as all of the adults in their lives fail to be engaged or helpful when needed. RUNT, the directorial debut of William Coakley, will be released in theaters and on digital platforms this fall.

RUNT stars Cameron Boyce (Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise, HBO’s Mrs. Fletcher), alongside co-stars Nicole Elizabeth Berger (Clover), Aramis Knight (Into The Badlands), Brianna Hildebrand (Deadpool, Trinkets), Cyrus Arnold (8-BIT Christmas, Just Beyond), Jason Patric (Rush), Charlie Gillespie (Julie and The Phantoms) and Tichina Arnold (The Last Black Man in San Francisco).

RUNT made its world premiere at the 2020 Mammoth Film Festival where it received the Audience Award, as well as a standing ovation. Boyce plays Cal, a high-school teenager, who after a troubling incident takes a stand resulting in devastating consequences. The story addresses topics of bullying, unsupervised youth, and the senselessness of gun violence.

“Cameron was incredibly proud of this film. We believe his powerful performance will resonate deeply with all of his fans,” said Victor and Libby Boyce [parents of Cameron Boyce]. “This film is very important in the climate we live in today. The message parallels the issue of gun violence and stresses the importance of helping people find peaceful outlets.”
