Something very strange is happening in Hollyweird…

Dark Sky Films debuted the official trailer for the The Blue Rose, the surrealist horror film set in 1950s, starring Olivia Scott Welch and George Baron as two police detectives investigating a murder who find themselves caught up in an alternate reality.

Also starring in the movie are Danielle Bisutti, Nikko Austen Smith, Glume Harlow, Jordyn Denning, Evee Bui, Sophie Cooper, Logan Miller, and Ray Wise.

Release Date

Directed by George Baron, making his feature film directorial debut, The Blue Rose, an official selection at Calgary Underground, New York City Horror and FRIGHTFEST film festivals, opens in theaters and digital/VOD platforms on July 12th, 2024.

Synopsis

A genre-bending surrealist noir set in the 1950s, The Blue Rose follows the one-night journey of two rookie detectives as they set out to solve a seemingly clear-cut homicide, only to find themselves in an alternate reality of their worst nightmares.

It’s the 1950s and Detective Dalton and Detective Lilly’s investigation of a man murdered in his home takes a surrealist turn, as they search for the dead man’s wife and anyone who might have a lead on the case. Soon they become immersed in the mysterious world of Tinseltown, and the women who rule it. The impressive feature debut from 18-year-old George Baron who also stars in the film and is best known for his role in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, The Blue Rose is a Lynchian mystery ripped straight from the Golden Age of Hollywood with vibrant production design and on-point performances.
