Paul Schrader’s First Reformed leads the Vancouver Film Critic’s Circle international awards with three wins, including Best Director for Schrader. Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma however, picked up Best Picture along with Best Foreign Language Film, and Minding the Gap won for Best Documentary.
The most interesting win was the Best Actor, Female category which was left as an unbroken three-way tie between Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Olivia Colman (The Favourite), and Regina Hall (Support the Girls).
Winners of the VFCC’s Canadian awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in Vancouver on Monday, January 7, 2019.
