Poland is officially kicking off the 2021 Oscar race by selecting Never Gonna Snow Again (Śniegu już nigdy nie będzie) directed by Malgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert, as the country’s entry in the competition for Best International Feature Film.
The film starring Alec Utgoff (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit; Stranger Things), Maja Ostaszewska, Agata Kulesza and Weronika Rosati follows the story of a Ukrainian migrant working as a masseur in Poland who becomes a guru-like figure in the gated community where his clients live.
Never Gonna Snow Again is set to world premiere in competition at the 2020 Venice Film Festival; and is also an official selection of the now cancelled 2020 Telluride Film Festival.
