The 68th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will host the world premiere of the series Dime quién soy (Tell me who I am), directed by Eduard Cortés, starring Irene Escolar, and based on the book of the same name by Julia Navarro. The presentation will take place on Monday September 21 in the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, at the Movistar+ Gala.

Dime quién soy, the first international production from Movistar+, is a voyage through the most important historical events of the 20th century seen from the life of Amelia Garayoa, a woman who broke away from social conventions to embrace an adventure-packed existence. The series, shot in locations such as Madrid, Alicante and Budapest, consists of nine 50-minute episodes. The first three will be screened in San Sebastian.

Produced by Movistar+ and Telemundo International Studios in collaboration with DLO Producciones, the cast features, apart from Irene Escolar, the actors Oriol Pla, Pablo Derqui, Pierre Kiwitt, Will Keen, Maria Pia Calzone and Stefan Weinert.

As an upshot of the book received by his little publishing company, Javier will discover the turbulent biography of Amelia Garayoa, a woman who, pushed by her ideals, is capable of leaving her whole life behind to fight for freedom. Through the meeting with the four men who mark her life – Santiago (her husband), Pierre, Albert and Max – Amelia will find herself becoming involved in the most outstanding events in 20th century history: from the pro-Franco uprising to the liberation of Berlin, passing through the rise of communism in Moscow under Stalin, the barbarism of the Warsaw ghettos, the Rome of the Duce’s last years and the decline of Nazi Germany in occupied Athens.
