The Boston Society of Film Critics picked Nomadland as the best film of 2020, along with Best Director for Chloe Zhao and Best Cinematography for Joshua James Richards. Other 2020 awards went to the Collective for Best Documentary and La Llorona for Best Non-English Language Film.

Best Supporting Actor – Paul Raci, Sound of Metal

Best Supporting Actress – Youn Yuh-jung, Minari

Best Director – Chloe Zhao, Nomadland

Best Screenplay – Charlie Kaufman, I’m Thinking of Ending Things

Best Cinematography – Joshua James Richards, Nomadland

Best Documentary – Collective

Best Non-English Language Film (awarded in memory of Jay Carr) – La Llorona

Best Animated Film – The Wolf House

Best Film Editing (awarded in memory of Karen Schmeer) – Robert Frazen, I’m Thinking of Ending Things

Best New Filmmaker (awarded in memory of David Brudnoy) – Florian Zeller, The Father

Best Ensemble Cast – Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

Best Original Score – Emile Mosseri, Minari
