Nomadland won best picture at the 93rd Academy Awards, along with best director for China-born Chloe Zhao – making her second woman and the first woman of color to win best director; and best actress went to Frances McDormand. This is the third win for McDormand, previously a winner for Fargo and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
The award for best actor went to Anthony Hopkins for the The Father, Yuh-Jung Youn won for best supporting actress for Minari, and Daniel Kaluuya won the best supporting actor award for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.
Another Round by Thomas Vinterberg and Zentropa won the award for best international feature marking the fourth Danish win in the category; and My Octopus Teacher directed by Pippa Ehrlich and James Reed won for best documentary.
