In Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter, it’s all about past decisions coming back to haunt an ex-military soldier as he befriends someone with the same goal in mind.

Redemption is the long game in Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter. Told with Schrader’s trademark cinematic intensity, the revenge thriller tells the story of an ex-military interrogator turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past decisions, and features riveting performances from stars Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan, and Willem Dafoe.

The Card Counter was written and directed by Paul Schrader. Executively produced by Martin Scorsese. Starring Oscar Isaac, Tiffany Haddish, Tye Sheridan, and Willem Dafoe, the film will be released in theaters on September 10th, 2021.
