Focus Features revealed the official trailer for Tár, the psychological drama starring Cate Blanchett as the fictional Lydia Tár, a famous conductor. Also starring in the film are Mark Strong, Nina Hoss, Noémie Merlant, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Sylvia Flote.
The film premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival where Cate Blanchett won the award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
Directed by Todd Field, Tár opens in select theaters on October 7, 2022.
From writer/director Todd Field, starring Cate Blanchett, Tár, set in the international world of classical music, centers on Lydia Tár (Cate Blanchett), widely considered one of the greatest living composer / conductors and first-ever female chief conductor of a major German orchestra.
The score for the film is composed by Grammy-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir., the first female composer to win an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA Award for Best Original Score.
