Altered Innocence revealed the new U.S. trailer for Beautiful Beings, the award-winning coming-of-age drama and Iceland’s submission for the 95th Academy Awards. Starring in the film are Birgir Dagur Bjarkason, Áskell Einar Pálmason, Viktor Benóný Benediktsson, Snorri Rafn Frímannsson, Aníta Briem, Ísgerður Gunnarsdóttir, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.

Beautiful Beings, the latest feature from Icelandic writer/director Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson following his 2016 feature debut Heartstone, world premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival – Panorama 2022 where the film won the Europa Cinemas Label; opens January 13th at Quad Cinema in New York City.

Addi, a boy raised by a clairvoyant mother, decides to adopt a bullied misfit into his gang of outsiders. Left to their own devices, the boys explore aggression and violence but also learn about loyalty and love. As the group’s behavior escalates towards life-threatening situations, Addi begins to experience a series of dreamlike visions. Can his newfound intuition guide him and his friends back to a safer path, or will they dive irrevocably into further violence?
