Inspired in part by filmmaker Sarah Watts’ own upbringing in a Jehovah’s Witness community, the Canadian drama film You Can Live Forever stars Anwen O’Driscoll as a teenager sent to live with her aunt in a devoutly religious Jehovah’s Witness, and develops a relationship with another young woman in the community.
Starring in the film are Anwen O’Driscoll, June LaPorte, Liane Balaban, Deragh Campbell, Antoine Yared, Hasani Freeman, and Tim Campbell.
Directed by Sarah Watts and Mark Slutsky, You Can Live Forever premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Festival, and was an official selection of 2022 Outfest, 2023 Palm Springs International Film Festival; and will be released in limited theaters + on demand May 5th.
When lesbian teen Jaime (Anwen O’Driscoll) is sent to live in a Jehovah’s Witness community, she falls hard for a devout Witness girl (June LaPorte) and the two embark on an intense affair with consequences that will reshape the rest of their lives.
