New movies coming to VOD soon include the home invasion thriller I’ll Be Watching starring Eliza Taylor, the Belgian neo-noir On The Edge, Trials to Triumph, the story of Freddie Stevenson’s football career, the thriller The Curse of Wolf Mountain starring Danny Trejo, and Sundance Grand Jury winner The Russian Woodpecker.

I’LL BE WATCHING

Uncork’d Entertainment will release the nail-biting home invasion thriller I’ll Be Watching, starring actress (‘’The 100’’, The November Man)/social media sensation Eliza Taylor.

After Julie’s sister was murdered, she and her tech genius husband move to the country, and he installs a top-notch security system that he developed. When he leaves on a work trip, she gets trapped inside and is convinced that the killer is having fun playing a sick game of psychological torture, before killing her like her sister.

Bob Morley (“Love Me”), veteran actor David Keith (Daredevil, An Officer and a Gentlemen), Seth Michaels (Red Notice), Bryan Batt (“Mad Men”), and Hannah Fierman (V/H/S) also star in the Erik Bernard-directed feature.

I’ll Be Watching will be released on digital May 2.

ON THE EDGE

Kino Lorber will release On the Edge, a gripping new Belgian crime drama from director Giordano Gederlini. This edge-of-your-seat thriller, nominated for the Grand Prix at the Brussels International Film Festival, takes audiences along on a father’s investigation into the mysterious and grisly death of his estranged son, which soon gets him involved in more than he bargained for.

The Blu-ray will be released on May 2. The film will also be available to buy and rent digitally on all major VOD platforms the same day.

In the pulse-pounding thriller On the Edge, a Spanish subway train operator in Brussels witnesses his estranged son Hugo fall to his death off the edge of a platform. Leo had not seen his son for years, but is spurred to investigate the mysterious circumstances of his passing. He discovers that Hugo was involved in a bloody heist, the discovery of which puts Leo in the crosshairs of the police. Leo’s skills in tracking and apprehending violent criminals, as it turns out, are not those of public transit employee.

THE CURSE OF WOLF MOUNTAIN

Directed by David Lipper, and starring David Lipper, Tobin Bell, Danny Trejo, Keli Price, along with Eddie McClintock, The Curse of Wolf Mountain will be released on demand and digital on May 9, 2023.

Aj begins having dreams of his parents’ death. He decides to go back to the spot where they were killed, accompanied by his brother and his brother’s family. But legend has it there is something mysterious roaming these woods.

THE RUSSIAN WOODPECKER: CHERNOBYL & WAR IN UKRAINE

The Russian Woodpecker is a thrilling, award-winning investigation into whether the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown was an inside job.

Trials to Triumph is the story of Freddie Stevenson’s meteoric football career, the crash that followed, and his reinvention. Hear stories of struggle & redemption from Maurice Benard, Delvin Breaux, Tony Gaskins, and more and see them overcome the odds in these powerful, real conversations.

Trials to Triumph was directed by Dan Ratner, Greg Romano, and Misa Garcia. This inspirational documentary based on Stevenson’s Best-Selling memoir features interviews with Freddie Stevenson, Maurice Benard, Dasia Torres, Neno Torres, Tyrell Lyons, Tony Gaskins, Dr. Dan Ratner, Delvin Breaux, Terris Stevenson, Sylvia Stevenson, and Ryan Green. It was produced by Dan Ratner, Greg Romano, and Freddie Stevenson.

Gravitas Ventures will release Trials to Triumph on digital platforms on May 2, 2023. The film has a running time of 1 hour 35 minutes and will not be rated by the MPAA.

HELL’S HALF ACRE

Hells Half Acre directed by John Patrick Tomasek, follows Marcus as he leads his group of young urban explorers Jessie, Dan, Jose, and Cassie to abandoned locations for their popular YouTube channel Strange and Abandoned Places with the goal of gaining ratings and paid sponsors.

They quickly discover that the abandoned Rockland Heights Prison is unlike any other location they’ve ever been to before as strange things begin to occur almost immediately after their arrival. They discover they’re not alone as it becomes a fight for their survival against terrifying and dangerous paranormal demonic entities.

Quinn Nehr, Brynn Beveridge, and Omar Vegga Jr star in a Distant Star Films production. Featuring an original score composed and produced by Ramesh Kumar Kannan and original songs and title score by VORE, Hell’s Half Acre hits digital April 28.
