Andrea Pallaoro’s Monica received the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Theatrical Release presented by Scott Evans at the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The film stars trans actress Trace Lysette as a woman who returns home to care for her ailing mother who she hasn’t seen in years. Also starring in the film are Patricia Clarkson, Emily Browning, and Adriana Barraza.
The satirical teen comedy film Bottoms directed by Emma Seligman won the Award for Outstanding Film – Wide Theatrical Release. The film starring Sennott, Ayo Edebiri, Ruby Cruz, Havana Rose Liu, Kaia Gerber, Nicholas Galitzine, Miles Fowler, Dagmara Domińczyk, and Marshawn Lynch, follows two high school senior girls who set up a fight club as a way to hook up with cheerleaders.
At the ceremony Oprah Winfrey received the Vanguard Award, introduced by long-time friends, iconic Chicago performer Chilli Pepper and celebrity host Paolo Presta; and Niecy Nash-Betts received the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, presented by Sharon Stone.

GLAAD also previously announced that +Life Media received the Barbara Gittings Award for Excellence in LGBTQ Media.
The 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards honoring media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues, will stream on Hulu beginning Friday, March 29.
