Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door starring Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore won the top prize, the Golden Lion for for Best Film at 81st Venice International Film Festival.

Other top prizes including Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize went to Maura Delpero’s Vermiglio; and Silver Lion – Award for Best Director went to Brady Corbet for the film The Brutalist.

Acting honors of Best Actor went to Vincent Lindon for the film Jouer Avec Le Feu by Delphine Coulin and Muriel Couli; and Best Actress went to Nicole Kidman for the film Babygirl by Halina Reijn, who missed the award ceremony due to the sudden death of her mother, Janelle Ann Kidman.
