The 40th edition of Boston Film Festival announced the award winners for this year’s edition of the festival. Sweetwater won six awards including Best Film, along with Best Story and Best Director for Martin Guigui; Best Actor for Everett Osborne; Best Music for Sweetwater, and Best Ensemble Cast.
Democracy Noir directed by Connie Field won Best Documentary and Mass Impact Award. Audience Favorite Feature went to Any Day Now directed by Eric Aronson.
The Humanitarian Impact of Change Award was presented to Chuck Cooper III for his work through the Chuck Cooper Foundation honoring his father former Boston Celtics player Chuck Cooper II. M.I.T. Head Basketball.
