World premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, winning actress Nicole Kidman the Volpi Cup for Best Actress award, ‘Babygirl’ is an erotic thriller film telling the story of a CEO played by Kidman having an affair with a much younger intern from her office.
Babygirl, the newest film from the director of ‘Instinct’ and ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies,’ Halina Reijn, also screened at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
In addition to Kidman, ‘Babygirl’ stars Harris Dickinson, Sophie Wilde, and Antonio Banderas.

Reviews
Owen Gleiberman in a Variety review praised the film, writing, “Babygirl takes a few turns we don’t expect, but that’s because the movie’s ambition isn’t just to feed the thriller engine. It’s to capture something genuine about women’s erotic experience in the age of control.”
Nicholas Barber in a BBC review gave the film a score of 4/5, writing, “Reijn’s raw, jagged, indie-style film has all the scenes you would expect if Babygirl were a standard Hollywood neo-noir thriller but each time Reijn explores the undignified reality behind the glamour.”
