Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist was awarded Best Picture at the Phoenix Film Critics Society’s 2024 awards, however, while Conclave dominated with five wins including Best Director for Edward Berger, Best Actor for Ralph Fiennes and Best Ensemble Acting.
“It’s clear our critics saw just how good ‘Conclave’ is,” said PFCS President Gayle Bass. “It’s a triumph of both acting and filmmaking.”
Anora won for Best Original Screenplay, along with Best Actress and Breakthrough Performance honors for Mikey Madison.
Emilia Perez won the award for Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Documentary went to Will & Harper.
Strange Darling won the Overlooked Film of the Year award; a film thought to have gotten insufficient attention from critics and audiences.
