Jeff Baena, an indie filmmaker and husband of actress Aubrey Plaza has died at 47.
TMZ is reporting that law enforcement sources confirmed that police and fire responded to a Los Angeles-area home Friday around 10:30 AM for a death investigation, after an assistant discovered him dead. Baena was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene, and law enforcement says he died by suicide.
Jeff Baena is known for the films Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), The Little Hours (2017), Horse Girl (2020), Spin Me Round (2022), and for co-writing I Heart Huckabees (2004).
His final film Spin Me Round is a dark comedy film that premiered at the 2022 South by Southwest festival and later released by IFC Films. It stars Alison Brie, Alessandro Nivola, Molly Shannon,Lil Rel Howery and his wife Aubrey Plaza.
