Conclave took the top award honors at North Carolina Film Critics Association’s (NCFCA) 13th Annual Best in Cinema Awards winning Best Narrative Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Acting Ensemble Awards.
The Substance also won multiple awards including Best Supporting Actress for Margaret Qualley, Best Hair and Makeup, and the Ken Hanke Memorial Tar Heel Award for Margaret Qualley’s connection to North Carolina.
Other performance awards winners include Colman Domingo won Best Actor for Sing Sing, Mikey Madison won Best Actress along with Breakthrough Performance for Anora, Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, and Margaret Qualley won won Best Supporting Actress for The Substance.
Top film honors went to Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story for Best Documentary Film, All We Imagine As Light won Best Foreign Language Film, and The Wild Robot won Best Animated Film.
The organization presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Roger Deakins. “We are honored to celebrate the artistry, passion, and dedication of filmmakers who inspire and engage audiences worldwide. Our members are proud to support a platform that highlights the richness of cinematic storytelling and its impact on culture and society,” said Noel T. Manning II, president of the NCFCA.
