The Argentine film Undefined Things (Las cosas indefinidas) by María Aparicio was named Best Latin American Film of the Year at the 15th Annual Cinema Tropical Awards.
This is the second consecutive year that an Argentine film wins the top award at the Cinema Tropical Awards, following Trenque Lauquen by Laura Citarella, which won Best Latin American Film last year.
This year’s jury gave the award for Best Non-Fiction Film to Pepe by Dominican director Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias. Argentine filmmaker Rodrigo Moreno received the Cinema Tropical Award for Best Director for The Delinquents (Los delincuentes), while Chilean filmmaker Felipe Gálvez’s The Settlers (Los colonos) won the award for Best First Film. In the U.S. Latinx Cinema category, the award for Best Film went to Skin of Glass, the documentary feature by Denise Zmekhol.
