Briarcliff Entertainment debuted the official trailer for Magazine Dreams, the drama film starring Jonathan Majors as Killian Maddox, an aspiring bodybuilder who struggles to find human connection in this exploration of celebrity and violence.
The movie world premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival where it won a U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award: Creative Vision; and was acquired for release by Searchlight Pictures, but was eventually dropped by the distributor, in response to both the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike and controversies surrounding Majors.
Also starring in the movie are Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O’Hearn, Harrison Page, and Harriet Sansom Harris.
Directed by Elijah Bynum, Magazine Dreams will be released in theaters on March 21, 2025.
Killian Maddox is consumed by his dream of becoming a world famous bodybuilder and one day gracing the cover of fitness magazines. He lives a lonely, regimented life, and his relentless drive for perfection only pushes him deeper towards self destruction, but beneath his tenacious pursuit of superstardom lies a desperate, aching need for human connection. As he battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons, Magazine Dreams explores the lengths one man will go in his haunting quest for recognition in a world that often overlooks him.
