Greg Kwedar’s Sing Sing won Best Picture at 7th Annual Latino Entertainment Journalists Association (LEJA) Film Awards along with Best Actor for Colman Domingo, who won the same award last year for Rustin.

Along with Sing Sing, Walter Salles’ I’m Still Here, Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez, Edward Berger’s Conclave, Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance, Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, won two awards each.

I’m Still Here won Best Non-English Film and Best Actress for Fernanda Torres; Emilia Pérez won Best Song for El Mal and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldaña; and Conclave won Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Ensemble Cast.

The Substance won Best Original Screenplay and Best Hair and Makeup; Challengers won Best Editing and Best Score; Wicked won Best Production Design and Best Costumes; and Dune: Part Two won Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.

Other top awards went to Brady Corbet, winner of Best Director for The Brutalist; Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, Gints Zilbalodis’ Flow won Best Animated Feature; and Carla Gutierrez’s Frida won Best Documentary.

“LEJA has much to be proud of,” said Toni Gonzales, LEJA President. “Winners in the four of top five categories are Latinos. In a year when Hollywood faced strikes and decreased production and our journalists faced downsizing, Latinos continue to lead the way.”

LEJA also presented its Rita Moreno Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran actor Edward James Olmos; the Breakout Award to Adria Arjona for her roles in Los Frikis, Hit Man and Blink Twice; and the Activism Award to John Leguizamo for highlighting the contributions of Latinos in history and entertainment.
