Celine Song, acclaimed for her Oscar-nominated film Past Lives, returns with another romance themed film, Materialists, a romantic comedy film starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal; and featuring a new original song by Japanese Breakfast.
Johnson stars as Lucy, a successful New York City matchmaker entangled in a love triangle with her ideal match, portrayed by Evans, and her imperfect ex, played by Pascal.
Directed by Academy Award nominated writer-director Celine Song, Materialists is scheduled for a U.S. theatrical release on June 13, 2025, distributed by A24.
The synopsis reads, “A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.”
