Film at Lincoln Center (FLC) will host two special 70mm screenings of Paul Thomas Anderson’s action thriller One Battle After Another starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti,
The screenings will take place on September 21 at the Walter Reade Theater with Anderson and members of the cast in person for a Q&A following the conclusion of the first screening.
In One Battle After Another, washed-up revolutionary Bob (Leonardo DiCaprio) exists in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited, self-reliant daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti). When his evil nemesis (Sean Penn) resurfaces after 16 years and she goes missing, the former radical scrambles to find her, father and daughter both battling the consequences of his past. Paul Thomas Anderson’s most viscerally thrilling film to date is a total blast, an epic, comic adventure of the weird new America that spans years and stretches from across the treacherous rolling-hill highways of the southwest and beyond. Inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland, but with a flavor and cinematic rush that’s pure PTA, One Battle After Another is an exhilarating, ultimately moving portrait of undying commitment to family amidst the mania of our contemporary world, featuring knockout performances from DiCaprio, Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Infiniti. A Warner Bros. Pictures release.
FLC and NYFF have celebrated Anderson’s work throughout his career, featuring the premieres of Boogie Nights (NYFF35), Punch-Drunk Love (NYFF40 Centerpiece), Inherent Vice (NYFF52 Centerpiece), and Junun (NYFF53). FLC has also presented special screenings of several of Anderson’s iconic films outside of NYFF, including 35mm presentations of Licorice Pizza, There Will Be Blood, and Magnolia, and extended 70mm runs of Boogie Nights and Inherent Vice.
“FLC has a long and proud history with Paul Thomas Anderson; our audiences are passionate about his visionary body of work,” said Daniel Battsek, FLC President. “As we anticipate the start of NYFF63, we’re thrilled to offer fans a special sneak preview of One Battle After Another on 70mm at the Walter Reade Theater—the perfect venue to fully experience the power of this extraordinary, exhilarating film.”
Anderson directs from his own screenplay, and produces alongside Adam Somner and Sara Murphy, with Will Weiske executive producing. Anderson’s creative team behind the camera includes several frequent collaborators, among them director of photography Michael Bauman, production designer Florencia Martin, editor Andy Jurgensen, and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood, with music by composer Jonny Greenwood.
One Battle After Another will be released in theaters and IMAX® nationwide on September 26, 2025, and internationally beginning September 24, 2025.
