Mexico has selected We Shall Not Be Moved (No nos moverán) by Pierre Saint-Martin as its Oscars submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards.
The black comedy-drama follows Socorro (Luisa Huertas), a lawyer obsessed with identifying the soldiers who killed her brother in 1968 during the Tlatelolco massacre. When she obtains what could be a lead, she embarks on a delirious pursuit that toes the line between obsession and absurdity.
It also stars Rebeca Manríquez, José Alberto Patiño, Pedro Hernández, Agustina Quinci, and Juan Carlos Colombo.

We Shall Not Be Moved premiered at the Toulouse Cinélatino Film Festival, followed by the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the Guanajuato International Film Festival, Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, and others. The film won several awards: at Guadalajara it won the Mezcal Award for Best Mexican Film; at Toulouse’s Cinélatino it won the Student Fiction Award, the SFCC Critics’ Award, and the CCAS Fiction Award.
The selection of We Shall Not Be Moved was made by Mexico’s Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC).
