A boy from the distant future crashes into our time – bringing rainbows, hope and a mission in the full official trailer for Arco.
In the animated film, a ten-year-old from the year 2932 whose first flight in a glowing rainbow suit sends him hurtling back to the year 2075. There he meets a spirited girl who witnesses his arrival and teams with him to find a way back home.
The cast includes Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg
Directed by Ugo Bienvenu, Arco made its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival followed by Annecy International Animation Film Festival where it won the top prize (Cristal for Best Feature Film). It is slated to open in the U.S. on November 14, 2025.
Here is the synopsis: A magical and beautifully animated journey through time, Arco is a dazzling adventure about a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075 and discovers a world in peril. As Arco develops a charming and touching friendship with a young girl named Iris, they band together and along with her trusted robot caretaker Mikki, set out on a quest to get Arco home, while the two children may also be the only ones who can save our planet.
Critical reviews of Arco have been positive with ScreenDaily calling it an “appealing but not groundbreaking 2D computer-animation [that] takes very familiar themes … but employs them in the service of something relatively rare: a science-fiction film that dares to hope for a better future.”
