
The Indonesian film Samsara directed by Garin Nugroho topped the nominations for the 18th Asia Pacific Screen Awards with 3 nominations including Best Film and Best Director.
Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident, Lav Diaz’s Magellan, Cai Shangjun’s The Sun Rises on Us All, Sho Miyake’s Two Seasons, Two Strangers, along with Yunan directed by Ameer Fakher Eldin, all received 2 nominations.
Magellan, The Sun Rises on Us All (Ri gua zhong tian) and Two Seasons, Two Strangers (Tabi to Hibi) are also nominated for the Best Film.
Chair of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Tracey Vieira, congratulated the nominees in the 18th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, who now join the Asia Pacific Screen Academy.
The 18th Asia Pacific Screen Awards on Thursday 27th November and the 7th Asia Pacific Screen Forum from 24th to 27th November will take place at The Langham, Gold Coast and Jewel Private Residences, on the traditional land of the Kombumerri families of the Yugambeh language region.
