‘Sound of Falling’ and Sirāt Lead European Film Awards Arts & Crafts Nominations

Sound of Falling by Mascha Schilinski and Sirāt by Óliver Laxe lead the nominations for the Arts & Crafts categories for the 2026 European Film Awards with 5 nominations each.

Sound of Falling received nominations for Casting Director, Cinematographer, Composer (Original Score), Costume Designer and Make-up & Hair Artist.

In the film, four girls, Alma, Erika, Angelika, and Lenka, each spend their youth on the same farm in northern Germany. As the home has been evolving for over a century, echoes of the past linger in its walls. Though separated by time, their lives begin to mirror each other.

Sirāt received nominations for Casting Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Production Designer and Sound Designer.

The follows a father and his son arriving at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco, searching for Mar – daughter and sister – who vanished months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties.

Also receiving multiple nominations are Sentimental Value, Bugonia and Franz.

The ceremony of the European Film Awards takes place on 17 January 2026 at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin, Germany.
