Directed by Eugene Jarecki, The Six Billion Dollar Man plunges audiences into the turbulent saga of Julian Assange, blending documentary rigor with the tension of a political thriller.
Featured in the documentary are a who’s-who of dissent and advocacy including Assange himself, tech leaker and activist Edward Snowden, Pamela Anderson, along with Naomi Klein, Chris Hedges, Jeremy Scahill, Daniel Ellsberg, Stella Assange, Jennifer Robinson, and Joseph Farrell.
The Six Billion Dollar Man premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the documentary award L’Œil d’or, and is slated to open in UK & Irish cinemas on 19 December and in US theaters in early 2026.

The documentary traces the saga of Julian Assange, a contemporary icon of the right to information, whose recent release from prison has reignited the global debate on press freedom. . With unprecedented access and previously unseen behind-the- scenes material, the film spans five continents, weaving groundbreaking new evidence into an international high-tech spy thriller of secrets, espionage, torture, and murder.
