From the glittering heights of pop stardom to the crushing weight of expectation, The Moment promises a vaguely true look behind the curtain of Charli xcx’s viral BRAT summer.
Charli xcx stars in the mockumentary The Moment as a fictionalized version of herself – a rising pop star navigating the complexities and contradictions of the music industry as she prepares to lead her first headlining tour.
Accompanying her in the film are Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, and Alexander Skarsgård
Directed by Aidan Zamiri and co-written with Bertie Brandes, The Moment will have its world premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, followed by the U.S. theatrical release on January 30, 2026, courtesy of A24.

According to the official film listing on A24’s site, The Moment centers on a rising pop star as she prepares for her big arena tour debut — a narrative that blends mockumentary style with incisive character study.
The story grew out of a message Charli xcx sent to Zamiri during her Sweat concert tour, which he described as “almost…a diary entry of how I feel right now,” and that emotional candor forms the backbone of the script.
