The new family-friendly animated adventure film Tafiti: Across the Desert, follows a spirited young meerkat named Tafiti and his unlikely companion Bristles, a bush pig, as they set off on an epic quest across harsh desert sands to save Tafiti’s grandfather.
In the film, based on the popular German children’s book series by author Julia Boehme, Tafiti has to find the flower that will cure his grandpa who was bitten by a snake.
Featuring in the film are the voices of Cosima Henman (Tafiti), Steve Hudson (Bristles), Kathleen Renish (Baba/Pelikan Mama/Elephant/Tree snake), and Jeremiah Costello (Eagle).
Directed by Nina Wels (Ritter Rost, Der kleine Drache Kokosnuss) Tafiti: Across the Desert will be released in theaters nationwide in the U.S. and Canada on January 30, 2026 via Blue Fox Entertainment.
Here is the synopsis: When his grandpa is bitten by a snake, Tafiti, a young meerkat, sets off on an adventure to find the magical flower that will cure him. Bristles, a bush pig, wants to prove that adventures are always better with friends and joins him across the desert.
