Sinners Wins Best Picture at Critics Association of Central Florida Awards

Sinners decisively led the 2025 Critics Association of Central Florida awards, winning eight awards and claiming the association’s highest honor, Best Picture.

Ryan Coogler won Best Director and Best Screenplay, and the film earned Outstanding Cast, along with the Achievement in Diversity award, underscoring the film’s cultural impact and commitment to inclusive representation.

In the individual acting categories, Timothée Chalamet won Best Lead Actor for Marty Supreme, Jessie Buckley received Best Lead Actress for Hamnet, Sean Penn was honored with Best Actor in a Supporting Role for One Battle After Another, Amy Madigan won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Weapons and Jacobi Jupe won Best Youth Performance for Hamnet.

Documentary and international cinema also received notable recognition. The Perfect Neighbor won Best Documentary along with Best Central Florida Film, and the Best International Film award went to No Other Choice.

The association also honored new filmmaking voices, awarding Best First Feature to Sorry Baby. Adding a touch of levity, the Golden Paw Award went to Indy the Dog for Good Boy, celebrating an unforgettable four-legged performance.

Returning this year are: “Best Central Florida Film,” a category designed to recognize outstanding achievement by a film with a significant connection to the Central Florida area, “Best Achievement in Diversity,” a category designed to recognize outstanding achievement by a film that showcases inclusion and diversity, both on the screen and behind the scenes, and “The Golden Paw,” designed to recognize a an outstanding animal performance in film.
