Olivia Holt, Froy Gutierrez, Luke Macfarlane, Corteon Moore, Chloe Avakian, and Carson MacCormac star in This Is Not a Test, a high-intensity zombie thriller from director and screenwriter Adam MacDonald, known for Backcountry and Pyewacket.
Adapted from Courtney Summers’ acclaimed young adult novel of the same name, the film places a group of high school students at the heart of an apocalyptic outbreak, forcing them to confront flesh-eating danger and the raw truths about themselves as they fight to survive.
This Is Not a Test screened at genre festivals including Toronto After Dark Film Festival, along with Brooklyn Horror Fest, and is set for its United States theatrical release on February 20, 2026 by Independent Film Company.
Here is the official synopsis: In This Is Not a Test, Sloane and a small group of her classmates take cover in their high school to escape their suddenly apocalyptic hometown as a zombie outbreak sweeps through. With danger relentlessly pounding on the doors, Sloane begins to see the world through the eyes of people who actually want to live and must take matters into her own hands to protect those around her.
