
Holy Days, the comedy adventure film starring Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes, and Jacki Weaver will be released exclusively in theaters across North America on March 27, 2026.
The film will have its world Premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 5th, 2026, and is the opening night film at the Victoria Film Festival.
Also featured in the film are rising Elijah Tamati (Deep Water) and Nat Boltt (Riverdale), making her feature directorial debut.
Written and directed by Vancouver-based Boltt and based on the acclaimed novel by Dame Joy Cowley, Holy Days is a joyful, life-affirming adventure about faith, friendship, and the courage to take one last leap of belief.
In Holy Days, three unconventional nuns embark on a last-ditch road trip across New Zealand from north to south on a journey to fight for their independence. Along the way, they form an unlikely bond with a young Māori boy on a deeply personal mission of his own. When an unexpected snowstorm derails their journey, the group must confront mortality, loss, and the transformative power of love, forgiveness, and connection.
Blue Fox is handling the U.S. release and international sales, with Holy Days on their slate at both Sundance and EFM, while Photon Films and Media is handling the theatrical release in Canada.
The film is produced by Emma Slade, Michelle Morris, Victoria Dabbs, Roxi Bull, and Sushant Desai, with Tainui Stephens serving as Cultural Producer, and Micah Winiata, Eva Trebilco, and Cameron Liardi as Associate Producers. The production is a collaboration between Velvet Moss and Lily Pictures.
